X3 Solutions, a creative and service-oriented AV company, specialises in live event and conference production. They assist in crafting unforgettable experiences for their clients' audiences by tailoring audiovisual equipment to unique needs, transforming any brief into a memorable event.
Challenge
Like most events businesses, they have been building themselves back from the COVID era when events were cancelled globally.
Their current website, about six years old, was looking tired and dated. It had some page load issues and had been slightly neglected as they rebuilt the business. Now was the time for a refresh.
The website brief was simple: create a clean, concise WordPress-based website that showcased their work, offered them a simple way to keep it updated, and fixed the technical difficulties the current website was facing.
Along with the website update, X3 were keen to refresh their brand as well. The brand had been tied to a purple palette since their inception but wanted to introduce more variety. We were tasked with expanding the colour palette, keeping the original brand purple and introducing new colours to complement this. Brew Digital was further asked to refresh some working documents to apply the new branding and give all of their sales collateral an uplift.
Solution
We started by holding a series of discovery calls to establish what X3 Solutions wanted to achieve with this work. With that process completed we began systematically evaluating their existing brand to identify how we could bring new life to their identity without going to the extreme of a complete redesign. Our designer worked on creating an expanded colour palette that was sympathetic with the original brand purple, while allowing more expression and design options. Although not in the brief, our designer also made some tweaks to the logo to better fit this enhanced colour palette and refreshed design, which the client loved! It has since been adopted across all of their touchpoints.
Simultaneously, we began the process of creating wireframes for their new website – focusing on information density and user journey. Once agreed with the client, we started applying the refreshed branding to the wireframes, and from there, building the new WordPress site. Our development team was very focused on ensuring that the site was performant; quick to load and easy to update independently. It was also important that the design and eventual build were completely responsive to different browsers and screen sizes.
Finally, working across departments, X3 Solutions also made use of our digital marketing team to refresh X3’s copy to be sharper, more relevant to their audience. This extended across both their website, brochures, and other marketing collateral.
Results
By working with Brew Digital, X3 Solutions have completely transformed their online presence and given their brand a much-needed refresh.
The company has gone from having a website that wouldn’t even load to a website that has a 93% performance score in Microsoft Clarity, and a first input delay of just 6ms. Our implementation of WordPress allows the X3 Solutions team to manage and update their own website, empowering them to take more ownership of their messaging and content.
Their expanded colour palette has rejuvenated their brand identity, making it feel much more dynamic, lively and relevant. Their new logo is in use across their touchpoints, working harmoniously with the new palette to really present the company in its best light. They also have new sales material to give to prospective clients – clearly outlining what they offer and how they can solve their clients' challenges with professionalism and flair.
